The Spruce Park Neighborhood is a charming, old-style, walkable neighborhood with a strong sense of community.

The Neighborhood’s mature landscaping combined with the blend of architectural styles create a harmonious but varied streetscape; a streetscape that is walkable. A person can walk inside the neighborhood or walk to UNM, or walk to one of three hospitals, or walk to the restaurants south of UNM. Downtown and the interstates are but a short drive away.

There is a sense of community here – where people know their neighbors.  We have an active neighborhood association, the Spruce Park Neighborhood Association (SPNA), with a charter to “preserve and enhance” our neighborhood. The Association sponsors several annual events such as a fall potluck and a Halloween parade. Through the Association’s collective voice, we address the neighborhood’s broader issues.
